The United States Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Association (USETDA) seeks professionals from the ETD community to serve as Regional Representatives. This is a leadership and professional development opportunity, which will allow our ETD community to further engage at the regional level. Ideally, each region would be served by two ETD professionals (a breakdown of the regions can be viewed at the end of this page). Regional Representatives will be asked to serve two-year terms that can be renewed.
Meet your regional representatives
Regional Representative responsibilities include:
- Connecting with other ETD professionals in their region. This could include sending regular emails or newsletters, creating a regional listserv for questions/announcements, or arranging meetups (Zoom or in-person).
- Becoming knowledgeable about ETD-related conferences and events in their region and sharing these opportunities with other regional members.
- Serving as a resource for new thesis reviewers or administrators in their region through helping them network and collect tools to help them in their role.
- Sharing topics to explore in the Community Engagement Group and ETD Formatting User’s Group. If appropriate, Regional Representatives may be asked to lead or present at one of these sessions.
- Providing feedback to the Board of Directors on various topics.
- Advising on some elements of conference planning. Regional Representatives may suggest venues for future conferences. The Board may reach out to individual Regional Representatives for recommendations if the conference is being held in their region.
If you are interested in applying to be a Regional Representative or if you would like to nominate someone to be considered, please do so through this form. The deadline to apply for Spring 2022 is February 28, 2022. Reach out to Emily Wuchner (wuchner2@illinois.edu) for any questions.
